Greetings south minneapolis; we have a barn-burner of a peak early 30’s tudor sourced and secured 8 eight years as these proud purveyors’ first classic example. ‘Bernadette’ has been thoroughly prepared by our Improvement Co. with design curation by Beverly Fok executed in-house on the shoulders of our craft trades.
Bernadette is an impeccably sorted tudor-revival right in the heart of Hale, she is filled with mindful, period-correct updates that celebrate the home's original character while equipping it for the modern family.
Bernie is well appointed with coved plaster, period-correct exposed Chicago-mix fireplace with birch mantle & flanking piano windows
the bernie has been fully mac’ed with dedicated boiler heat and central ac, her weather beater entry offers a cozy mudroom entry
Presenting the Bernadette of 1932: a richly appointed original example, ‘Bernie’ is a welter-weight version of blueprinted architect tudors that anchor Minneapolis on the national architecture 🗺️ map. Choosy mom’s choose Hale ™️ is a phrase we coined over 15 years ago, following the migration of countless educating mothers who commanded the hale // field pocket for their offsprings’ educational prowess. We have been low-key Hale proponents since often navigating what is & will continue to be an overly updated zone in the South Minneapolis landscape, mining for the survivors is a must, tuning them for modern day, which Bernadette represents beautifully within an affordable price point.
Hale typically lacks some of the trimmings that were optioned in 1932 on Bernadette: patterned plaster with cove molding, symmetrical niches flanking arches that lead you through the commons, surviving shaker kitchen that was masterfully reimagined by the Improvement Co.
We have so much gratitude for the owners trust in allowing our pressing of the period-correct arch replication as it catapults the livability of the interior into another class of classic home. The kitchen layout previously had three doorways leading in & out, the arched galley gave the space added counter space and tied the spaces together from the firebox living chamber to dining to kitchen with our signature of partially period-original harmonizing with the desired modernized cooks’ range wall & paneled fridge providing a crisp and clean finish to the kitchen. Mudrooms at front and back have become a Hale standard spec as we want to empower generations of young families to realize the humble depth of these original tudors.
