It is important to mention that Rare Form Properties’ identity has evolved quite a bit over time.

What began as a brokerage has turned into (with relative expediency) a brokerage-design-remodel-rental-etc. company.

Rare Form is only able to function as a result of many, many hardworking craftsman, including : entrepreneurial carpenters, young tile guys, immigrant painters, dad electricians, singing plumbers, family handymen, HVAC pros, hardwood floor gurus, country garage guys… & the list could go on.

We like to say these people don’t work FOR Rare Form, they work WITH us.

Below are the people who work for Rare Form. Nice to meet you!

After three years in corporate real estate listening to brokers push balance sheet agendas and pressing us into quick sales (to his own brother, in one case) to hit a vast monthly overhead, the writing was on the wall. Steve decided to make a clear separation from what makes real estate uncomfortable. For starters, people should be treated as people, not "transactions" going toward custom plates on a range rover.

Rare Form sprouted in 2006 as a brokerage focused on creating a movement around the culture and awareness surrounding period homes from 1900-1940. Buying a home is a life changing event, and it should move along at your pace, whether you scour East Harriet for five years, or buy a duplex in Nokomis on one impulsive afternoon.

At least that’s what we believe, and that’s what Rare Form has been about since it was founded in 2006. We won’t rip you off, and we won’t force you into anything that isn't the perfect fit. Our goal is to help you feel comfortable throughout the whole process and make informed decisions along the way.

If you’d like to see how independent real estate can be truly different, give us a call.

Design is not simply about the way something looks; It effects how people heal, play, live and how they interact with space.

As a designer Deidre’s goal is to improve people’s quality of life through a designed space to fit their individual needs and tell their personal stories.

Deidre has a BA in Fine Art as well as a BS in Interior Design from the University of Minnesota. Working for a commercial architecture firm her experience ranges from corporate, healthcare, cultural centers, hospitality and higher education projects. Her background in commercial design supports her creative nature with technical execution.

Deidre lives in the Kingfield neighborhood with her husband, baby boy and pup. When she is not designing she is traveling the world or relaxing at the lake.
