Jeanette grew up in the Tudor at 4723 Nokomis; later in life, she acquired it from her parents in the ‘70s and resided there until 2014! The prior owners were Rare Form clients who performed the initial phase of restoration removing olive green patterned wool carpeting from the entire house.  

The oak floors had their original shellac finish confirming they had never been sanded since being installed in 1927. Birch millwork was restored in matte lacquer to celebrate this Bristol example of deco era craftsmanship.    

While the prior owners completed a wonderful first phase, the current residents Jon & Meg Stecher became the ‘owners of record’ by executing three phases of restorative sorting: 🥇 1st kitchen & attic addition 🥈 2nd Basement finish 🥉 3rd outdoor patios, terraces & gardens.

Jeanette is a modern classic of Tudor originality that was tirelessly restored by multiple owners in phases since her original owner signed the deed over in 2014. It’s a house that served purveyors for over a decade and the resulting condition was based on several phases of owner infused restorations beginning with carpet removal and most recently a basement finish that every family covets in winter.

Her modernized elements were all rooted in the deco era, from the arched shaker kitchen with period correct finishes to the paneled and papered second floor sitting room – it’s a space that is truly timeless. The kitchen was designed by Studio Day to emphasize the lines and finishes that are consistent with the Tudor era: shaker fronts in oak and paint grade maple with marble counters that patina like good architecture.
